Visit some of the most picturesque and quaint areas in New England. Cruise across Lake Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire’s largest lake, to the charming town of Wolfeboro. Drive along the Kancamagus Highway, one of New England’s most scenic routes! Board the Winnipesaukee Railroad for a scenic train ride around the lake while feasting on Hart’s freshly roasted turkey dinner with all the trimmings.

Sunday, October 3
Depart 6:00 AM from the north end of the Park & Ride on Deereco Road (1/4 mile south off Padonia Road – Exit 17 off I-83) and 6:30 AM from the Carney Park & Ride on Harford Road and Jomat Avenue (3/4 mile north off beltway Exit 31-B). 7:30 AM breakfast stop on own. Lunch on own and rest stops en route before arriving approximately 5:30 PM and check into the Naswa Resort on Lake Winnipesaukee, NH, 1086 Weirs Blvd, Lanconia, NH (Tel. #603-366-4341). Welcome reception upon arrival. 6:30 PM Dinner is included tonight at the resort.

Monday, October 4

7:00 AMFull breakfast at the resort. 9:15 AM depart the Naswa with a local guide for a day of touring the Lakes Region. 10:00 AM relax on a scenic 1-way cruise along Lake Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire’s largest lake, aboard the M.S. Mt. Washington. 11:30 AM Disembark in the resort town of Wolfboro. Free time for lunch on own and shopping (2 hrs). 2:00 PM Admission to Castle in the Clouds, a magnificent mansion set in the mountains overlooking Lake Winnepesaukee. Originally called “Lucknow”, the home was the fulfillment of a dream of a turn-of-the-century industrialist, inventor and millionaire and features skilled hand craftsmanship and technological innovations. 4:30 PM Arrival in Meredith for ticketing and boarding the Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad. 5:00 PM All aboard the Winnipesaukee Railroad for a fun ride along the lake, including a casual and delicious carved turkey dinner! Ride is approximately 2 hours. 7:30 PM approximate return to the motel. Guide departs. Evening is at leisure.

Tuesday, October 5
6:30AM buffet breakfast at the resort. 7:30 AM depart Naswa to pick up a local guide at the White Mountains Visitor’s Center at 8:30 am, and then a full day of touring the Spectacular White Mountains Region. 9:30 AM arrive at the Cog Railway for ticketing and boarding. 10:00 AM all aboard the Cog Railway for a 3-hour round trip to the peak of Mount Washington – the highest peak in the Northeast! 20 minutes at the summit to visit the mile-high state park, the Observation Center and view the spectacular scenery! 1:00 PM lunch will be on your own at the Highland Center (homemade soups, salads and sandwiches). 2:00 PM touring continues through Crawford Notch past the historic Mount Washington Hotel. 3:00 PM free time to shop in the quaint village of North Conway, or at the factory outlets. 4:00 PM tour the Kancamagus Highway, one of New England’s most scenic routes! 6:00 PM approximate return to the motel. (Guide is dropped at the pick up spot en route.) 6:30 PM dinner is included this evening at the motel.

Wednesday, October 6
7:00 AM Full breakfast is included at the resort. 9:15 AM depart Naswa to Canterbury, NH. 10:00AM admission is included to the Canterbury Shaker Village, a historic Shaker community founded in 1792, and now is a National Historic Landmark. On your guided tour you will stroll the serene grounds, view the 23 buildings and observe skilled craftsmen recreating traditional Shaker objects admired for their beauty, simplicity and function (2 hours). Lunch is on your own at the Village. 2:00 PM approximate return to the Naswa. Free time to relax. 3:30 PM depart for dinner in North Woodstock. 4:15 PM begin boarding the Café Lafayette Dinner Train. Freshly prepared entrees, elegant surroundings, and beautiful scenery on your 20-mile, 2-hour trip through the heart of the White Mountains! 8:00 PM approximate return to the Naswa.

Thursday, October 7
7:00 AM breakfast included at the Naswa. 8:00 AM check out and depart for Baltimore. Lunch on own and rest stops en route before arriving approximately 6:00 PM Carney Park & Ride and 6:30PM Deereco Park & Ride.
