Spend a few days in the Hudson Valley region of New York, rich in American heritage. Ride along the quiet Hudson, and view the stately mansions and riverfront villages. Visit the twin mansions in Hyde Park–the Vanderbilt Mansion and Franklin D. Roosevelt’s home and library. The U.S. Military Academy at West Point, dating from 1778, will be a highlight of your tour. Wedsday, September 29
Depart 6:00 AM from the north end of the Park & Ride on Deereco Road (1/4 mile south off Padonia Road – Exit 17 off I-83), 6:30 AM from the Carney Park & Ride on Harford Road and Jomat Avenue (3/4 mile north off beltway Exit 31-B) and 6:45 AM from Mt. Road and Joppa Park & Ride (exit 74 off I-95). Breakfast stop on own en route. Lunch on own before arriving approximately 2:30 PM arrive and check in at FDR Home & Library, the nation’s first presidential library features FDR’s collection and many exhibits from the Roosevelt era. 4:00 PM visit the Library and Museum. 5:00 PM depart for the Holiday Inn-Kingston (Tel. #845-338-1299). 6:30 PM Dinner is included tonight at the Holiday Inn.

Thursday, September 30
Breakfast included 7:00 AM at the hotel in the dining room. 9:00 AM depart for your day at Valkill.8:30 AM arrive and check in at Valkill. 9:00 AM tour of Valkill, Eleanor Roosevelt’s retreat. It became her permanent home after President Roosevelt’s death. 10:30 AM depart for Vanderbilt Mansion. 11:00 AM check in at Vanderbilt. 11:30-12:30PM tour of the Vanderbilt Mansion, located 2 miles north of the FDR home on Route 9, was the Spring and Fall residence of Frederick W. Vanderbilt, one of commodore Cornelius Vanderbilt’s grandsons. 12:30 PM depart for lunch on own in Kingston by boat dock with many restaurants and shop to browse. 2:00 PM arrive at the Hudson River Cruise in Kingston. 2:30-4:30 PM cruise on the Hudson River. Depart 4:30 PM and return to the Holiday Inn. 6:30 PM dinner included in the dining room.

Friday, October 1
Breakfast included 7:30 AM at the hotel. Bags out. 9:00 AM check out and depart for for West Point. 10:00AM stop at the Visitor’s Center and Gift Shop. 10:30 AM meet your guide and tour West Point (photo ID required for entrance). 12 Noon depart for the Hotel Thayer for lunch. 2:00 PM depart for the Brotherhood Winery. 2:30 PM tour and tasting. 3:30PM depart for home. Dinner stop on own en route before returing approximately 8:15 PM to Mt. Road, 8:30PM to Carney Park and Ride and 9:00 PM to Deereco Park and Ride.
